My laptop has a Intel Core i5 2410M @ 2.30GHz with the Intel HD Graphics 3000. So I was wondering if I could run games like Perfect world or something.. I never have been a PC gamer so nothing hardcore but I would like to try to get into a game like Perfect World but I'm unsure of how it would run with the integrated graphics.

It's an on-board/integrated graphics card and by no means a contender for gaming, however, it does seem to run most recent games under low-med settings, with the exception of a few obviously (BF3, Skyrim, etc). For your circumstances, I'd say it'll suffice.

My X220 Tablet's i5-2520M paired with 8 GB RAM plays Team Fortress 2 no sweat, just runs really hot. Alot of older less demanding titles can be run medium/high settings,

Yup, I play the older C&C's using the Intel 3000 to conserve battery and it runs excellent.

As mentioned above, don't expect to play hot new demanding titles, though. If you do, look for a 540m or something like the K53TA (cheapest bang for buck laptop out there) with 6650 dedicated card that crossfires into a 6720G2, you can play all titles out now. You can pick it up for like 500-550$ (even cheaper during refurbished sales).

I agree with the previous posters. My laptop has the switchable video cards (integrated vs discrete) and sometimes I forget to switch before loading up a game. On many games it suffices just fine. For example, I've played:

    League of Legends
    Plants vs Zombies
    Terraria
    Dungeon Defenders

On regular graphic settings with only the Intel 3000. However, it cannot handle other games, like Lord of the Rings Online or Diablo 3. LOTRO won't even load up and D3 experiences massive sampling.

If you're only after light gaming, I think the Intel integrated will suffice.

Depending which games you run and on what kinds of settings, yeah, you can use the gpu in question for gaming.

Despite various claims, numerous IGPs can be used for gaming purposes without issues, and Perfect World being an MMORPG seems like the type of game to be able to run ok on HD 3000.
You may have to fiddle with some settings though.

What is your current settings when playing League of Legends? I think League of Legend is not a gpu hungry game, but can the HD 3000 run LoL on Max settings? Been wondering if the HD 3000 can max out HON w/o AA or Ansio.
