I was recently introduced to the concept of modded or custom drivers for Intel integrated graphics processors.

My friend owns a netbook, Asus EEEPC with an Atom CPU, and he discovered that aftermarket support for this Intel processor is pretty large. He has found a way to overclock the cpu and the gpu using software. He also found custom modded drivers for the Atom's IGP which apparently increased gaming performance. The Atom CPU and gaming are two things that usually don't coincide but it can definitely play certain games pretty well. I would also like to increase gaming performance from my netbook by using custom modded drivers.

I want to know if there are custom modded drivers for my Intel i7-2620m's HD3000 IGP? I searched here for any threads regarding this topic but didn't find anything.

    Games I play:
    Minecraft (single & online multiplayer)
GTA SA (single & online multiplayer)
    GTR Evolution
    Nintendo 64 emulator (Project64)

    My computer:
    Model: Asus U24E-XH71
    CPU/GPU: i7-2620m, HD3000 650 MHz - 1.3 GHz
    RAM: G.SKILL, F3-10666CL9D-8GBSQ, 8GB (2 x 4GB), DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666), 9-9-9-24, Cas Latency 9, 1.5V
    SSD: Samsung 470 Series 128GB

Any iGPUs after GMA950 (x3100, 4500MHD, Intel HD/HD3000) cannot be overclocked using GMABooster, nor have I seen any custom drivers to extract more performance. Only demonstrated performance improvement for the HD3000 comes from running pricey DDR3-1833 RAM instead of DDR3-1333.

I'd suggest a DIY eGPU if want faster graphics.

Unfortunately I won't be able to resort to an eGPU or a better GPU for the moment being. I just wanted to extract the most I can out of what I already have.
