Alright- I sent back a Vaio 139e/h that had a ATI Radeon card that I really miss now. My windows index expierence score was a 4.6 on that unit.

I have now a Vaio 170j/w that has:Mobile IntelĀ® Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD with IntelĀ® Clear Video Technology
Problem is my index score is a 3.8 because of the card. I understand that it is integrated but is there anything i can do to optimize my system a little bit/?

Your feed back and answers are appreciated.

You can try better drivers and maybe overclock. Not sure if you can OC intergrated card like that though.

Why do you care about index score anyway?

It is close to impossible to OC a intel card. You have to go past some major bios security stuff for that i think.

There is nothing you can do to optimize the card ecept getting new drivers, but there are many things you can do to opimize games.

Well I care becauese my Tosishba I bought 5 years ago fiinally took a blue screen plunge. I went to bestbuy since I have a card and they offer no interest so I can pay it off in 3 months intead of right away. I wanted something different and did not want to pay more than 1400.00. So the Sony in my opinion after speaking to them in store for an hour was the best buy. THey sell their computer using the index score to show you the total performance of their units to compare. The 139e/h had a very high score at 4.6 which was impressive and why i made my oringinal decision. I got the 170 thinking it would be faster and better but it says 3.8 instead. That is my reasoning behind it.

    Thanks

Sony is an expensive brand, if u want a laptop for 1400 bucks you can get one with 8800 GTS which is like 50 times better than the x4500

WEI score is crap dont trust it all. Besides with that Intel IGP you wont able to play any modern games even OC the card wont help much though
