I don't play alot of graphics intensive games. Mostly stuff like Civ and Galactic Civ. Will intel integrated graphics work for these games? What about RTS like the "craft" series?

It can play Civ 4, dunno about galaactic civ, and it can play craft series, but it depends on which card you're talking about

I'm talking about no card at all. Just the intel integrated graphics, which I believe with my limited computer knowledge means it has no card at all. That's what I'm talking about. Your standard laptop with no dedicated card, no GeForce, Radion, etc., what kind of games can it play effectively? I don't really play shooters and graphics intensive games. Though some of the Total War games can get pretty graphics heavy in the war scenes.
Does that help? Thanks for your help. -

you still have a gpu. you have to have a gpu to display graphics.
its just that your graphics "card" isnt quite a card- rather- its just a chip integrated onto the motherboard. the intel integrated graphics chips still get updated. new ones are released. etc. they are just way behind the dedicated solutions from ati/nvidia.
start -- run -- dxdiag
you should be able to find the version of your intel graphics chip. gma950 or gma 945 or something is probably what it will say. if you just bought it, it might say x3100. -
Just because you have an integrated card, doens't mean you have no card at all.
Try to find out which integrated card you have. -
I don't have the laptop yet. I'm looking into purchasing a laptop, and given my limited gaming, was wondering if I have to spring for a model that has a decent graphics card, or if I could get away with the cheaper units.
So, what should I look for when considering a model with intel integrated graphics only? 128mb? Suggestions welcome. Thanks -
I know the Integrated Intel GMA 950 supports World of Warcraft (my friend's laptop uses it, and she gets about 20 fps with medium settings and low resolution).
So taking that into consideration, Civ 4 will definately play along with Gal Civ (Great game, by the way).
The Total War games are somewhat 3D intensive when you get to the actual battles, and they can get quite intricate. It should run, but wait for someone else to comment for the Total War series.
As for the "craft" strategy series, that should DEFINITELY work very well. Starcraft is a 2D game and will run very well. Warcraft III works on my 6 year old integrated Dell Inspiron!
Integrated graphics generally share ram with your computer, I don't know much else. Hopefully someone here is more familiar with the technology. -
Intel Integrated work for any games?
