i am planning on getting the sony fe, but apparently you cant get them with a go7600 in canada, so i was wondering if the intel 950 could still handle vista?

    thnx!

Yes, Vista will run on your notebook. You may or may not get Aero glass to run.

The GMA950 will run Aero Glass, but I would still recommend a better ATI or Nvidia integrated card, or a low-end dedicated one.
The HP dv6000z is worth a look if you can find it - comes with an integrated Nvidia Go6150.

Most likely not with the integrated gpu. It will run, but not very smoothly I presume as the reqs for Aero seem to be a dedicated gpu.

It's been confirmed that the GMA 950 will run Aero, I believe that the GMA 950 was made with Aero in mind as the 900 could not run aero, thus it will most likely run smoothly. However, it'll still be better to get a dedicated card than the GMA 950 because though aero itself will most likely run smoothly, you don't have much room for anything else that'll be graphically taxing.

Well if you're not happy with the Sony FE (which you shouldn't be for that price) then you should fill out the FAQ in the "What should I buy" forum. Better notebooks to get than that.

will the ati2oom be able to run aero? Also i read that with windows vista when you are playing a game or something that vista automatically turns off aero to divert more of the gpu to processing your game.

200m will run aero. I would recommend a dedicated card to run aero so that the cpu/gpu is taxed to a minimum. Vista Aero is predicted to be a real performance killer!
