A new driver is up 15.12.2.1637 dated from... 1/21 ???

Would it be an IE problem (as only today I saw this new driver) or they released this driver late???

Nevertheless it is mostly to fix some x4xxx problems. No windows 7 driver yet

the driver was posted a while ago under the desktop section and they probably put it up in the mobile section only today.

Hi there... I was just watching some videos and reviews and one of them showed one Dell Inspirion 1525 with x3100 and 448MB of video memory...

How they did that? Maybe there's a chance of expansion of ours from 358 to 448MB? I know that will not make much difference at all but... more don't hurts...

version of 15.2.2 in the mobile section is corrupted. it cannot be extracted. refer to 7oby's earlier post for a link to the new driver in the desktop section.

why do you all care about intel pre beta drivers so much?

are the current drivers so bad that you will sacrifice stability for performance?

look at the date the opening post was made. the "pre-beta" thread title was never changed. if you read the newer posts, nobody talks about those old drivers anymore.

that being said, gaming performance on the x3100 is still abysmal but these latest drivers have been the best ones yet.

    FYI Photoshop cs4 users - http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4056
(while you are at it Adobe released an update for Photoshop itself that is worth getting http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/thankyou.jsp?ftpID=4292&fileID=4003 )

    download this
double click AllowOldGPUS_ON.reg in the zip and let it import to registry.
In Photoshop go to Edit -> Preferences -> Performance click Enable OpenGL Drawing.
Restart Photoshop and go back to that menu and you will see your x3100 detected if you have drivers with OpenGL 2.0 suport (v15.1 or later for vista I think) and realtime image rotation etc will now be enabled.

 Thankx! I´ll look into it! :)

EDIT: One friend with CS4 + X3100 like ours tried Yakumo links and X3100 is supported by CS4 allowing OpenGL acceleration but, and this is the *bad* part, when you do something that makes CS4 use the OpenGL 2.0 acceleration CS4 crashes!

Conclusion: forget about X3100 acceleration on CS4.

    Pls help me! :(

    I have Celeron 550 @2Ghz; 1,5Gb DDR2 RAM and X3100 with the latest driver (15.12.2.1637) on Vista Business 32bit.

I have very bad scores and gaming performance!

Vista experience: Aero: 2.0 Gaming: 3.0
    3DMark 2001SE: 1800!!!! everybody gets 3500-5000 points :O

In NFS UG2 with lowest settings on 800x600 i get 20-30 fps. It's horrible.

Have u try to reinstall? install the directX8 inside?
that seem to be too low cos I got 3.2(gaming lowest) with Celeron 540. may be u should try to upgrade more ram and switch to Windows XP. Gaming on X3100 is much better on XP.

The IGP and memory clocks are crippled on low-FSB CPUs. Core 2's not only give you faster CPU, but the IGP and memory will run at full speed.

I know Celeron is crippled CPU but even me with a Celeron 540 (worse than moltam's) got a 3.5 in Aero in Vista, and 3dMark 01 got 1800 is waay too low, there's definitely smth wrong with his system.

    1) try to find your motherboard´s PPL and search for the SETFSB program to overclock your CPU/BUS. It freezes before doing any damage

    2) use dual DIMMs (2x 1Gb, 2x 2Gb, etc)

    3) do a fresh OS install. If you have the option, choose Windows XP SP3 or Windows 7 (better)

    Hi I'm Akash and I'm new here. I use a Toshiba L300 Intel Core2Duo T8500 2.4GHZ 2GBRAM X3100.

I just want to know if there is any way to increase FPS in games like POP4, mirrors edge, and stranglehold.
Any overclocking idea or any software, patches, etc..

And which OS shud I play in? Vista or XP Sp3.

From what I've heard, the x3100 has no hope in playing those games at reasonable framerate.

Mirror's Edge has playable framerates, but POP4 and Stranglehold lag. Isn't there any overclocking software for X3100. Or any texture, shaders patches for POP4 and stranglehold.

akash, I have spent hours searching through internet and found out that u have asked this question on most of the blogs that I've searched through also :D. Seems like there's still no tool to OC the x3100 and no mod to reduce the graphic requirements for POP08 now but I think there will be in the future.
I'm gonna try Dead Space soon on x3100 based on this guide

Ya I know I hav asked it everywhere but no answer :(

    And abt dead space:
Install the latest Mobile Intel® 4 Series drivers frm here: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Product_Filter.aspx?ProductID=2991&lang=eng
    Start game
    Go to Options > Visuals.
    Resolution 1024x768 or LOWER.
Turn Vsync off. Then go to Advanced Render Settings.
Bloom, Glow, Depth Of Field, AA, Blur, Post Processing, Flares, Motion Blur, Decals
Set it individually. Set everything OFF.
    Press Accept.

Mobile 4 Series drivers are better than 965G drivers. Try them. And only Vista drivers are updated, not XP drivers.

So can u tell me which OS shud I use? My laptop config is Intel C2D 2.4Ghz 2GB RAM 965G X3100.

14.37.x and 15.12.x are the last drivers for GM965/GL960 chipsets. You'll have to wait for the refresh for those drivers like 15.12.2 etc.

The sound problem like repeating and lagging in XP, when I tried dead space in Win7, there's no more sound problem.
But in Win7, the mouse take 0.3 to 0.7 secs to response to my movement while in XP it works perfectly.

Install at least BIOS version A12. I'm running A15on the Dell XPS M1330. Otherwise you will run into memory corruption problems with the more recent intel drivers ( click).

Download the latest intel driver for the GM965 chipset. For Vista 32-Bit this is v15.12.4. Open installation_readme.txt and perform Step 1. - 11. of section MANUAL "HAVE-DISK" INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS exactly. Don't short cut. Perform the steps.

    Unlikely.
