It seems my Dell Inspiron 1525, with Windows Vista Home Premium Sp1 and w/ all other updates installed (including the latest graphic driver from Intel), is not allowing me to edit the registry properly in order to force software shading.. (I'm playing Guild Wars, so I figured it would help my performance quite a bit..)
I can NOT find anything in the registry labeled as (w/o quotes) "_3dmark06.exe" or "_3dmark05.exe." Variations like "_3DMark06.exe" fail as well. The ONLY thing I can find in my registry are files labeled with the "~" symbol in front of them..
For instance:: "~3dmark06.exe" or even blatantly "~Gw.exe" (which appears as such in the registry, without tweaking or creating anything.)
What is going on???? Please help! Will Installing XP solve this??? Gah!![]()

Lemme suggest an alternate strategy. instead of editing the registry for tweaking graphics, why cant you use 3Danalyzer to tweak your graphic card settings. it can be found here
