I've recently purged my computer / and installed Windows 7 Business 32bit.

( I previously had Windows Vista 32-bit Home premium)

I realize now a few issues:

    1) My brightness buttons dont work (this will lead to point 2, as others have noted)

    2) My laptop no longer 'recognizes' my GPU as being the 8400M GT that was originally recognized by Vista.

Now, apparently I have a 'Standard VGA Graphics Adapter' with a total of (drum roll please) 8mb! WOW!

So anyway I can fix this?

You can't just install a stock version of Windows and expect everything to work. You need to reinstall all of the drivers. Sometimes Windows automatically does it, but sometimes it can't.

Man you need to learn alot about computers :)
You need nvidia drivers for the gpu and probably some sort of hotkey driver for your FN buttons, better check your manufacturer drivers page.

Without knowing the brand and model of the computer, it is kinda hard to tell which drivers you have to get.

Also, some manufacturers like to force you to use their drivers for the video card. Looking at sony...

You can go to the support page for your laptop on the manufacturers website. All the drivers you need should be listed there.
