Hi, I'm an American living in New Zealand (loving it) and I've noticed when I've bought games on steam, a few of them, most notably CoD4, has an (AU) next to it on my recent purchases list. Obviously, the AU stands for Australia, since I'm in this part of the world, but my question is if I continue to buy games from this part of the world on steam, will I still be able to play them if I return to America? I can confirm I can play games already on my steam account from America over here but just wondering if anyone has any experience with it vice versa? Thanks![]()

Good to hear that you are down in this part of the world. I am fairly sure that steam accounts are international and in that you can play the games anywhere you like.
I have neverly really checked on the exchange rate for Steam games (never purchased anything on there). How good or bad is it?
And what city/town are you in? Just making sure you get the right impression of the place. -
I've been living in Auckland for the past year or so in Avondale. I went on a roadtrip around the south island about 2 years ago which was great. Haven't seen too much of the north island except for the extremes of auckland and down to whakatane.
The exchange rate isn't that bad. Sometimes its cheaper than running out to JB hi-fi to buy the game. Most of the games stay in USD format so around $40-50 for newer games USD. Not sure what that comes out to in NZD probably 70ish or so. Way better than trying to cough up $120 for codmw2 lol. -
austria = australia ?
