As stated in the title, my internet connection drops while connecting to a server while playing black ops, and in BFBC2 I do not even detect any servers. while doing anything else the internet works fine. I have to troubleshoot my internet connection every time I try to connect. Any ideas on what the issue could be?

Opened the right ports (tcp + udp) on your firewall + router?

My routers most recent firmware is from 2005, and it's updated.

    DId you update manually?

I updated manually since the firmware says that it was up to date but if I checked the net there was an update....

We are still not 100% sure...

Have you tried using LAN and not through the router? I mean playing directly through the modem?

not yet, but I don't think it would be a problem... something changed that I didn't change. I had NO problem connecting to a server in the past.
