Just a quick note, Interstate '76, one of my favorite games EVER is coming to gog.com tomorrow for $5.99. It's a 70's car based game with a great story, sweet soundtrack, and awesome action/missions, and is one of my all time favorites. Just wanted to pass this along, I was estatic to see it becoming available for modern OS's, as the old game won't install on 64bit OS and is glitchy in VM's.

    Here's a link:

    ENJOY! I can't wait!!

gog.com is selling the Arsenal Pack which includes the Nitro expansion...Nitro expansion and/or the Arsenal Pack can be difficult to find...usually eBay has one or two available, but sometimes pricey due to the collector item nature of it...

If gog.com has a wrapper to run this flawlessly under XP, Vista and Windows 7, this could possibly be the greatest gaming news in a long time for me...

I loved this game (even more than MechWarrior 2), but trying to get it to run under XP with the movies/cutscenes intact was incredibly difficult, and now, I can't even remember how I did it...I can't imagine trying to run it under a newer OS...*crossing fingers that gog.com did a good job with the wrapper or whatever they're using for compatibility*...

If you remember and liked Carmageddon or Quarantine or maybe even Road Rash, this game trumps...people that can't get past the lack of detailed textures won't like it, but if you can get past the 90's stylized polygons, it's a really fun game with some decent car physics for when it was designed...

Gog used OpenGLide, but it's still not running flawlessly for a bunch of folks who get inverted colors or campaign glitches. Adding -glide to the shortcuts helped for me with the colors though others are experiencing problems related to running Windows in a different language. Still, I'm glad to finally have it in my game library and hope MW2 is on the horizon.

yep, it's running great under XP for me on my netbook, GLIDE mode actually looks suprisingly good!

Windows 7 is throwing me a few qlitches, but currently running GLIDE mode in native 1366x768 mode with 16Q AA etc, and it's very crisp and totally enjoyable. Biggest problem is keeping it from running to fast and causing the AI to act screwy in mission scenes. Combat is working great, but for example, in the opening TRIP mission, Taurus drives slowly and keeps riding the brakes. On my XP netbook, it doesn't do that and runs great.

But, there's a lot of activity over there (in the GOG.com I76 forum), and even with a few tweaks here and there, it's already running much better on the newest hardware in Windows 7.

And, after playing the first few missions last night on my netbook with a Xbox 360 pad, it was pure awesomeness... still love this game!

I'm hoping gog.com's next Activision product will be any/all of the Activision Star Trek titles...try finding those on eBay or Amazon for a reasonable price...I was very tempted to sell my Armada 2 game and box...

Already have MW2 and GBL running fine under DosBox (although trying to get my 8-year old Sidewinder Force Feedback working with DosBox was way too difficult...and the original Sidewinder with the twist grip was a huge part of MW2's appeal for me...twist left...chassis looks left)...obviously not the 3D accelerated Titanium versions, but I always preferred the classic 'clean' look...texture artists hadn't quite caught up with the technology, in my opinion, in the mid-90's...

Played it with the Nitro pack back in the day, pretty fun game for sure.
