Now that more people starting to notice, I bring up again this issue.
Some people migt still be thinking buying a Pascal laptop, so here is a list to help decide.
Here is a list of laptops and panels which I personally checked and confirmed:
Affected by the issue:
Clevo P775DM3-G - LGLP173WF4-SPF1 75 hz Only G-Sync+dx12
Acer Predator G5-793 - LP173WF4-SPF1 75 hz Only G-Sync+dx12
Asus GL702VS - AUO B173HAN01.1 (AUO119D) 120 hz Only G-Sync+dx12
Asus G701VIK - AUO B173HAN01.1 (AUO119D) 120 hz Only G-Sync+dx12
Asus GL702VI - AUO B173HAN01.1 (AUO119D) 120 hz Only G-Sync+dx12
Asus GL703GS - AUO B173HAN03.2 (AUO329D) 144 hz Every situation
Laptops that are NOT affected:
Asus G703VI - AUO B173HAN03.0 (AUO309D) 144 hz
Asus G752VM - LG LP173WF4-SPF3 75 hz
Acer Predator Helios 500 - AUO B173HAN03 144 hz
MSI GT73VR - Chi Mei N173HHE-G32 (CMN1747) 120 hz
MSI GT75VR - Chi Mei N173HHE-G32 (CMN1747) 120 hz
Clevo P775TM-G - AUO B173HAN03 144 hz
Changing hardware (screen/vga) did not fix it. Maybe other laptops are affected however I only tested these. The GL703GS was the worst.
For laptops with B173HAN01.1 the solution to fix the issue is use driver 376.06! This 1 driver can fix it. Available on the Asus website. May need inf modding for some laptops to allow install.
For other panels I did not find a fix yet.

I really hope the new RTX laptops will mot be affected..

Confirmed on ASUS GL703GS with AUO B173HAN03.2.
Should we ask ASUS a free repair fix for re-tuning overdrive? Or maybe a replacement with B173HAN04?Last edited: Feb 13, 2019 -
This is interesting (inverse ghosting issue with previous GL703GS): new Armoury for GL704 includes a mod-switch to conrol Overdrive!

Is it a response time issue? Could an aggressive custom resolution with specific timings help?

Would be nice to compare the timings between 2 panels 1 which have this issue and the other which does not...expesially if both are the same panel just different laptop brand.
I also wonder why does the problem only appear when dx12 is enabled on some panels...does dx12 API somehow affect GSync+panel timings ?Vasudev likes this. -
or it's a Nvidia driver issue for someone.Last edited: Feb 16, 2019
