Gonna be movin to yurop on july and will replace my ancient one, it seems there's absolutely nothing in store for us until mid-late 2015.

Desktops GPUs are gonna get their 20nm sometime next year and they're getting haswell refreshes this year. But what about laptops? I hear on news AMD is making some new modern APU or something but it doesn't sound like it'll affect the higher end (1300$-XXXX) gamers. Just hope prices go down for summer at least, if nothing new comes out.

For the high end they have R9-M295X to release, but no one knows the specs yet.

No not really,I haven't seen anything to be excited about. AMD really has to get there act together if they still want to compete with Nvidia.

To cut through the mountain of noise in other related threads, in a word, no -- there will likely be no high-end refresh from AMD or NVDA until late this year or early next.

Besides the R9 M295X I expect them to release the R9-280/280X based on the Bonaire GPU, the FirePro M6100 has been already out for a while but it uses 768 SPs instead of the fully unlocked 896, but it does use the same GPU core that's in 7790 and R7 260X and has great performance thanks to very high clocks so I expect them to be released in the M280 series to compete with the Maxwell 850M and 860M. The FirePro does slightly outperform the 860M in 3DMark 11 (sadly the only benchmark done with it) but then it is supposed to be a 75W card compared to the 60W 860M. The FirePro did come out last year so AMD could easily improve power consumption for the M280 series but who knows. The good news is Bonaire has TruAudio unlike the rest of the Mobile GPUs.

Also there are rumors of AMD preparing to release Volcanic Islands 2.0 for the desktop with HMB (stacked DRAM / 3D Memory) soon so they may decide to update the mobile variants too (I doubt they will though since its 28nm). Sure High Bandwidth memory may be useless for slower Mobile GPUs but Hynix does claim that it reduces power consumption of the memory by up to 3X at the same bandwidth level compared to GDDR5.
