It should be able to run most games at low settings, but don't expect very high performance. It'll probably run a little faster than the integrated graphics in an AMD A8 processor, but not much faster. It should support switching as any mobile processor these days includes an integrated GPU, and almost all laptops support switching.

If you're looking to run modern games at high settings, you should probably be looking at something in the 6850m/560m range, but those are in bigger, hotter-running, and more expensive laptops.

Another note: Don't by budget PC's for gaming, you will regret it later.

I thought this graphics card was better than amd radeon 6470m.and as far as i've seen the 6470m can play modern games in high-ultra settings.can this graphics do better than that?

What modern games are you talking about? If you're talking about Oblivion, maybe at high. If you're talking about Skyrim, it'll probably squeak by at 1366x768 and low settings. If you're talking about something like NBA 2k12 or something though, even integrated graphics can run them at high settings...

If you're willing to sacrifice eye candy and resolution, the 7450m will be able to play most current games and some that are yet on the horizon, but it's not going to run at high settings on many games released in the last 2-3 years.

These cards are almost identical in their gaming performance. They are considered third tier cards. You want 1st tier cards.

I guess that opens up the question. With a $550 Budget, what IS the best laptop you can buy for gaming? (New Machine)...

Sounds like you have already made up your mind.

Just keep in mind, 25fps is at the low end for any game to be playable. Frame rates dip and rise, and 25fps is an average. Sometimes frames will lower to 15, some will rise to 40..

It IS playable.. but most people prefer an average of 50-60fps to assure that every seconds is rendered smoothly.

Dude in those videos, mostly are with the 6490m @ GDDR5.
If i recall you said in OP that the one youre looking for is DDR3.

Basically, by doing some math, expect worse perfomance that the one you saw in those videos, lets say around 20% performance hit.

Imho like others said, dont get this laptop. The card will get old pretty fast, and its already an entry level card. You will regret it soon.

and going on and on and on

no i've been searching for a medium range laptop with a decent graphics card for a long time.bt most of them are either too expensive or too bad quality.now i found this laptop in a store.so i was determining the graphics quality of this.
also i'm from uae.so a lot of laptops are pricy there

UAE have some decent laptops bro :D ... try to find something with a 1366*768 resolution & a GPU on the level of a 5650 ... so far my 5650 with my current overclock is doing just fine running stuff on 1366*768

A suggestion ... get a Lenovo Y570 its pretty cheap in your country, has neat build quality, good performance for its price & superb speakers

If you are an avid gamer, the minimum laptop that most people are happy with has either an AMD 7690M or NVIDIA 555M (Or 640M)
