Steam games seem to be a bit cheaper than buying them in the store.

But why don't you search around Amazon, Buy.com and compare that to regular stores?

Usually the third party vendors in Amazon offer games at very good prices, specially 'old' games (like more than 6 months since their release). A couple of weeks ago I got Stalker for $14.00.

Especially if you live 30 miles away from en electronics retailer. It costs me at least $8 round trip to go to a physical store and buy any games.

    That depends on two factors:
    - The price of the game online, and
    - The price of the game at the stores near you.

Sometimes it's cheaper, but it rather depends on what prices you're comparing it to. Why don't you check it yourself? Look up the prices and see which one is smaller

In sweden we have REMARKLY differences in prices comparing regular game stores and online game stores. Online is MUCH cheaper. and that goes for almost everything, TV, computers etc etc.

I`d guess Steam is the best way. Never worry about losing the dvd,no shipping expenses...

it's pretty cheap compared to buying it in store, and steam will probably be even cheaper because it will be a digital delivery.

can't beat things like The Orange Box either!

it may pay off to get newer games online if you can avoid paying tax and shipping. if you go to mega-electronics store like bestbuy on the right day you'll find tons of games at a bargain price.

Personally I always buy the disc. I just like to have something tangible in my hands. I don't always trust that I'll be able to download the games forever.

    Same.

I buy games mainly from Amazon (cheap prices, no sales tax, free shipping) and occasionally when on-sale at a retail store.

I like to have the disk in my hands as it is just essayer to install after a hard drive crash., with that said I just bought a hard copy of Level D simulations 767, and oh did I pay! The program was $45 and after shipping from what ever European country it came from(can't remember now) it was $80! , so sometimes you don't save.
