The alienware area-51 m5550 is mxm III and it is compatible with the radeon x1900 according to Ice-tea. I am wondering if the GF 7900GS is compatible with the area-51 m5550 as well.

ANy help is greatly appreciated. Thx in advance.

i dont think it is, and even if it was... i wouldn't upgrade it.

The m5550 overheats with the go 7600... i would hate to see how unstable it would be with a 7900.

I was just wondering because Ice-tea said radeon x1900 was compatible with area-51 m5550 and I am thinking its in the same thermal envelope as the GF 7900 GS

You've asked the same question repeatedly. Just call Alienware.
