Depends on how much you love killing zombies. For me the $37 is worth it, but to someone who finds killing zombies meh, then maybe not so much.

i enjoyed the first, what I really want to know is, is it worth it to get the newer version of a similar formula (zombie killing)

Yeah, I like pretty much every aspect of L4D2 as they refined everything from L4D1. Only thing I liked more from the first game was the characters, but I guess the L4D2 characters grew on me.

If you're a fan of the first, then I would highly recommend the 2nd one as they improved on it more-so than first impressions (I was one of those who thought having the 2nd game out was a ridiculous idea, but now I believe its well worth it).

I think it is, but to be sure, I think you should play the demo if it's still available and check it out for yourself and see how they both compare.

It's alright. It feels more like an expansion pack. The one thing I hate is that the AI is even more retarded and the versus mode feels incredibly unbalanced. One break of teamwork lands you in hell.

I agree that even though there have been moderate changes, it feels like an expansion. Not worth the price IMO

It's worth the price if you enjoyed the first. It has new maps, and more of every item and specials, AND a DLC is coming out with more uncommon infected, so it's a great time to get it now.

L4D2 is well-worthy the cost of admission, more so than the original title due to Valve releasing the SDK tools early in the sequel's lifespan.

also with the add-on tool, you can use all your favorite maps from L4D1. =D and the riot shield can be quite nice =P

I say yes. I bought L4D not even 2 or 3 months ago, and still bought L4D2 when it came out. It's a worthy title, especially on sale.

I played the demo on steam and it was pretty fun, and I bet it would be even better with friends but I'm going to wait for the price to drop a bit first.

i love it so far, just get it when it is at 30, it seems like that price keeps reappearing on amazon and gamestop.

I agree. I got it for $30 off Amazon and I find that price to be reasonable - I wouldn't have paid more. Every now and then it's $30 on Amazon (+free shipping) and Gamestop (not sure about shipping), so I would just check there and buy it there.

I guess I'm easily amused...but the frying pan was pure genius...and easily worth the $37...and then the girl had a Depeche Mode shirt...Valve, you just got my hard earned money...

And tossing Boomer bile on the horde of infected is entertaining...

Better (in my opinion), more cohesive story (as if anyone really needed a good story to kill zombies)...

And then there are the new, specialized zombies...everything is more and better...I think it was worthy of a full game...

If L4D1 was not worth the $19 bucks I payed for it, I highly doubt even paying $5 bucks for L4D2 is worth it !

I'm waiting for a nice 50% off steam discount or something like that. If I can get TF2 for less than ten dollars, I can sure as hell try to get L4D2 under $30. :)

Well ive always loved killing zombies and L4D2 is deffo a sweet zombie killing coop game. The one problem ive foud is that L4D2 is kind of a wow factor game. At first its ing amazinf fun in every way but it gets boring doing the same thing all the time. So imo its a damn good game but dont play it to often otherwise it gets abot lame ;p

Problem with that is, TF2 was released with the Orange Box, over two years ago. L4D2 is still pretty much brand new, not even two months old yet. That said, they've already had some nice 33% off sales of it, putting it in the range of $35.

hell no... shooting zombies is boring and sick... i would instead spend the cash on castle wolfenstein or Modern warfare 2... they have a nice story etc...

SImply put...ppl that enjoyed the first one will find this one pretty much AWESOME, OFF THE HOOK...I love the new arsenal of weapons, melee and upgrades...the new special zombies, also the new UI makes it hard enough to keep on playing...believe me when I say this is tougher than the first one, you will realize it once you play normal and then advanced. Also the levels are amazing, if ppl didn't like level layout before...well, look for it on youtube, the swamp level, and ppl will understand. Totally worth it!
