Is an integrated card enough for watching HD movies and outputting to a 1080p monitor?

Basically the only things I do on my laptop is write stuff (office, etc.), code stuff (mostly matlab) and watch movies. I'd like my new laptop to be able to play movies on my 1080p monitor (in 1080p resolution) through HDMI. Is an integrated card enough?

in my mind, it's capable of way more than that, if Integrated video cards could play movies years ago, imagine what they can do right now. it won't be able to do good gaming but it will display video without a problem
