Hey guys. I was looking at laptop2go drivers and want to try out some new ones. I have never used anything other than the drivers given to me by the windows "driver update" in the hardware controls.

So my question is, before I accidentally give my lappy a BSoD, is anyone with comparable specs as in my sig using the 169.09 drivers? How are they working?

Hey-i have XPS M1730 and used 169.09 with modded inf. they work like a charm-i am getting 40 fps Crysis 800 and 30 fps 1280! I renamed my SLI 8700mGT's to 8800GTX with the modded inf and performance and stability are great-i would hihgly recommend these drivers-or look at nvidia prerelease performance

I have dual 8600gt's and use the 169.09. The 1st game I played on this X205 was Bioshock, with stock drivers I had white lines appear once in a while and other minor problems I installed the 169.09 and the problems disappeared. It also gave me a 200pt jump in my 3DMark06 score. I can play Crysis at mostly high some med settings at 1280x800 with 0 problems. Using it for over 2 months now and very happy with it. Make sure to use the "have disk" method for install. :spinny:

I've been using 169.09 for a while and haven't had any problems with it. I get good, stable performance from them and its overclockable.

forgive this somewhat of a threadjacking, but I'm hoping to update my 5920G's 8600M GT drivers...I'm just not sure which I should go with. it sucks, every game I've tried so far has failed and crashed as a level was loading...due to the fact that the last Acer driver for this laptop was released back in June '07!!! I've just been backing up all my stuff as if doing a drive update fubar's anything, I don't wish to lose anything!!!

Yep, I tested both of em (04 and 09) out, and the 169.04 is better.
(Gives 211 extra points in 3D06 and you'll get like 2fps more in some games).

VERY recently, someone found that Asus had new drivers specifically for notebook cards, including the 8600M GT - no modded inf needed! I was running 169.04 from laptopvideo2go on my G1S for a month or so, and have just changed to these new drivers (167.49 - yes, confusing I know that the number is lower). They work at least as well as the drivers I was using with all the games I have tested - Doom 3, F.E.A.R, Crysis demo, Half-life 2 + ep 1 and 2.

    Link to 167.49 drivers

Also, I see just now that Dell has drivers out specifically for laptop cards as well - but I also see that only a few cards are supported, like the 8700M GT, and not the 8600M GT.
