Is it just me, or do you guys go back to playing CSS after playing COD4?

    Hi,

I been playing COD4 MP for a month. It was great at first, but I started losing interest... Don't get me wrong, COD4 still is one of the best FPS. But, I go back to playing CSS. I've been playing CSS over three years now, and it never gets old. What do you guys think?

Go back to CSS? I guess I'd have to be playing CSS in the first place. I've only played like 50 hours of CSS in my life, god I hate that game. I think you meant "Do you go back to Call of Duty 2, which is a far superior game to Call of Duty 4?" in which case my answer is yes.
    :p

    Call of Duty 4 FTW.
CSS was good, although I've never got into all that jazz, but with COD4 I just can't stop!: D

Now i know this may seem weird but its the realism that I dont like,I find css more fun and not serious, now css can get serious but most times its just fun, whereas in CoD4 its like you gotta be the best and you cant die, whereas in css if you die your like  and carry on.Thats just my opinion,Im a serious gamer but when it comes to CoD4,

I agree CSS feels extremely dated, and it's hard to get past the cheesy graphics. A great game of its time though.

I always find myself going back to FEAR if I'm just looking for a quick couple of rounds, my little brother plays COD4 like a fiend though and its a solid game but he plays on 360 so maybe thats why I dont prefer it. As far as TF2 and CSS I couldn't play either game more than 1 or 2 matches and have considered deleting TF2 since it updates all the time and my internet is data capped.

Yeah I kinda play games in rotation. My three favorites are CoD4, CSS, and Red Orchestra. I play one for a while until I get bored. Then I play something else until I get bored of that. Right now I am playing CSS again. I haven't played CoD4 in a while. I should probably fire that up sometime.

CSS is wayyy more team oriented when you play seriously, and ALOT harder when you are up against good people.

I always see CSS as the true test of someones twitch and aiming skills in FPS games.

I filled in a little bit last year when my friends cal team was missing a guy. I was nowhere near as good... But man... The competition was fierce!

CS and CSS are the most extreme examples of twitch FPS gaming skill. I've been playing both since they were released *gag*. To be honest, the only reason I go back to them is to socialize with the communities I have become a part of over the years. CSS culture is much larger than with most FPS games, and if you find a fun bunch of people to play with, it makes the game much more exciting and enjoyable (true with most games).

Otherwise, I hate CS/CSS with a passion. Playing CSS is an exercise in masochism. Shot from across the map by some guy with a Desert Eagle and an AWP before you even get out of spawn *cough* DUST2 *cough*. Then you sit for 5 minutes...dead...with nothing to do but watch everyone else play. The skill divide between newer players and older ones is on the order of hundreds of hours (meaning you can't really jump in and have fun at this point). Even after 500+ hours, I STILL suck compared to most of my friends. Also, I find myself completely uneven. Sometimes I stick at the top of the scoreboard, headshotting left and right, steamrolling the entire opposing team. More often I sit at the bottom with some ridiculous 5/20 score, and on top of that I have some stupid 14 year old telling me how much I suck and how much of a "noob" I am, and how I should go uninstall the game, kill myself, and jump off a cliff.

Where do these kids come from? What kind of crappy education leads to a 14 year old who believes it is possible to kill yourself and THEN jump off a cliff?

What causes this behavior? Playing DotA? Gang violence? Hormones in the water?

I need an aspirin. *logs off*

I hate it when all of my friends see playing CSS and talk about how bad it is compared to CS 1.6. It's like dude, get over it, so the gameplay is different and you when from the top to the bottom when you switched. I'm not a 1.6 pro gamer, I'm playing for fun.

On another note, CS 1.6 was what got me through high school physics. The class was filled with computers, and every single one had UT2003, Starcraft, and CS 1.6 on them. everyone would get done with there work in 20 minutes and the entire class would turn into a mini lan party. fun times. :D IT was always funny when the Cheerleaders would try to play.

CoD4 never really kept me playing much in the first place. The only time I really play it is when a bunch of my friends invite me in to play. Otherwise I'm playing Gears of War on 360 or CS:S/TF2 on PC.
