I have a Dell Vostro 1500 with an Intel Media Accelertor x3100 graphics card. Is it possible to hook it up to a television. I want to be able to play basic games on the television. Nothing too graphics intense.

Will the picture on the television be good if I do this?

Is what you are saying I need S-Video in as well? How can I tell if I have that?

Edit: If I get the S-Video with audio cables, do I need to get one that has just the S-Video connector on one end or can I get a cable that has both the S-Video and male audio connectors and just use the S-Video plug for the computer.

Apple iTV, steams Movies, I don't know about games, there probably will be lags and delays between the moment you press a button then the actual display. :D

I read somewhere that using can S-Video can put a strain on a video card. Any truth to this? I wouldn't want to blow it out.

    completely UNtrue.

the real question is what TV do you have, does it accept Svideo, is it an HDTV and accept HDMI, DVI, or VGA?

Sony standard television. It has S-Video. Not sure what HDMI, DVI, or VGA is.

I went into Windows dislplay, settings and selected Television from the drop down menu. Then checked "Extend my desktop to this monitor. I also changed the pixels to 640 x 480, the lowest setting.
The only thing I am getting on the television is my Windows desktop background.

Either choose a "clone" option in that menu or completely transfer the desktop to the tv. The option you selected just made your desktop wider (you should be able to see your cursor on it) so while all the icons are on your notebook you can open programs on the tv now
