For some reason I can't reassign keys to the mouse. Mouse 1 default is melee, mouse2 is block but in the control change menu they just have three dashes (---) next to them. I can reassign the commands that are bound to the mouse buttons by default, but I can't assign anything else to the mouse buttons. I want to reassign the forward command to right mouse (i know, it's unusual) and I would like to assign the magic key to my fifth or sixth mouse buttons.

NOTE: I do not own, nor have ever played Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (though I would love to).

But doing some googling, here is a handy link from the Unofficial Elder Scrolls Pages wiki:
    http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Technical_Support

    And the good part quoted:

Since it sounds like you have a many-multi button mouse, you may be one of the people who has to configure it by toying around in a .ini file since it sounds like the Oblivion configuration options won't be of much help besides for the first 2-3 mouse buttons.

Hopefully a real Oblivion player can help, but this is a start :/

    I assume...success?

Did the in-game configuration do it, or did you have to get into the Oblivion game files and edit the mentioned .ini file?

Sounds like the config. did it for you -- but I wouldn't feel dumb if the user interface of the Elder Scrolls IV was overly complex and clunky.

    I hope it worked!
