Is it the game or the computer?

I have 2 games that crash into windows and 1 game that does not:

Fallout 3: Crashes to windows in middle of game
Left for Dead: Crashes to windows in middle of game
    Grid: Never Crashes

SO could it be the computers problem or the game?

Also anyone know like amazing space backrounds that are 1400x900?

crashes are usually driver issues. L4D is pretty buggy at any rate. try some different drivers.

    as for wallpapers, check deviantart.com.

It is probably the game that is buggy? L4D has been particaluarly crash-prone when I tried the Demo...

About the wallpapers, you can also look on customize.org.

It's impossible to determine the cause(s) of the crashes without additional information. Windows, as is the case with any OS, logs information detailing what went wrong and when. Go to Start > type "reliability" and open the Reliability and Performance Monitor. Take a look at the error information for the failures and tell us a little more about the nature of the issue.

^^ What he said. Could be a number of things. PC gaming is not so plug & play as xbox etc...

    1. Update Vista, drivers, game patches etc...
    2. What's running at the same time (i.e. anti-virus, msn, bloatware, malware etc...) they can cause conflicts.

    /agree.

I played L4D Demo on Steam a few days prior to release (never bought it, I wasn't really that into it)... ran smooth and fine. used nVidia Drivers v. 179.14 from LV2go.

I recently moved to 180.48, and they seem to work good. no crashes yet.

I've also been having sporadic Fallout 3 crashes in the middle of the game running XP SP3 with a Radeon HD4850.
