Just want to know what's up with my system. If it's OK or not.
Specs are in sig. Does this game use SLI? I set the Nvidia Control Panel "SLI visual indicator" to ON. But the green SLI bar doesn't show during the game. SLI is enabled in Nvidia's panel btw.
Also, I keep seeing only 1 of my cards go up in temperature. Tipically during gaming they are 10 to 15 degrees (c) apart. At normal usage (no gaming) my cards' temps are about 40 to 42 on both.
While gaming temps go up to 55 on one and stay at 42 on the other.
That was question 1.
Question 2 is, Is the following the performance my computer should have running this game?
If I set it to default (Default res = 1280 x 720) I get the following:
![]()
If I set it to default EXCEPT for the res (here is at 1920x1200) I get:
![]()
Thanks fellows.

Yeah. Something is up, I just can't imagine what it is. I first thought that SLI wasn't running but I just fired up HL2 and it shows the SLI indicators so I guess it is running.
Throw some ideas here bro. I should be smoking this game. -
Maybe it is your GPU drivers. Between tests, I noticed a difference of 20 fps just from using a different driver on some occasions.
-
Hmmm... My driver seems to be OK (179.85 from Dell). Anyone else here uses or know someone with dual 260m in SLI to try this?
I just played HL2 with SLI indicators on and:
1) Temperatures for both cards are exactly the same (52C)
2) SLI indicators show up on the left side of the screen.
With SF4 (it's supposed to use SLI):
1) Temperatures are way off. 40c for one, and 53 for the other one.
2) No SLI indicators are visible even though they are set to show up.
I'm starting to think it's the game and not my PC. Which would also blow. -
Sorry for double post. I checked:
Nvidia Control Panel > Manage 3D Settings > Program Settings, (Untick Show Only programs found on this computer), and there doesn't seem to be a profile for SF4.
This might be the answer. I have SF4 from Steam. How do I add a profile to it? -
War download Nhancer, also I can recommend the 180.84 drivers from Tweakforce. I backed down from the newer 190 drivers to the XtremeG 180.84 drivers, these gives me excellent performance in games.
-
Tried Nhancer. At least I can force it to use SLI. Which means without nHancer SF4 on my computer does not do SLI. This causes the temperature on one card to shoot up and on the other one to remain low.
Now both cards are exactly at 53 (C). So problem 1 is solved/understood.
However, the performance is still weak, although a tad better. Just a few FPS above.
Is there a way to force the game to use SLI using the regular nvidia control panel? I tried adding the .exe (launcher and the other one) to the list but no luck it still uses one card (unless I force it with nhancer)
As far as drivers, I can't use 180.84 anyway because nHancer accepts only from 182 and up. I used the earlier version of nHancer to test SLI.
If I could just force it to use SLI with the regular control panel would be great. That might help more.
Then again, if anyone is interested I can sell you my steam account (only 2 games HL2 and SFIV) for $30, since it is pissing me off. -
Sorry guys for the double post, this is an update.
I managed to force SF4 to use SLI via Nvidia's Comand Center (not nHance). Just added the .exe files from the game to it. Temperatures are now exactly the same on both cards so SLI must be running.
However, the performace sucks still. (No one wants to buy my steam account?) If I turn EVERYTHING off, or to the lowest possible, and use a ridiculous resolution I get this:
Is this for real? I guess SF4 is not meant to run on this damn thing.Last edited by a moderator: May 6, 2015 -
Update your drivers!! 179.85 is a bit outdated for that game. Thats probably why SLI isnt enabling.
Newer drivers provide better support for newer games. -
i wanna ask 1 question thats unrelated...is this game fun? iv been looking for something new to play.
-
I will update drivers right now before I go to sleep. We'll see. It's my last resort.
nightmear321 this game is really fun. That pisses me off even more. If you are looking to buy it let me know. If this driver thing doesn't work I can sell you my steam account for $30. It has SF4 and HL2. SF4 alone is $40.
Will post back. -
I had the same problems, I updated my drivers, now I run 19x12 8x AA everything maxed out and it sits at 60 fps. Looks great.
-
Yeah its your drivers and the lack of the proper SLI profile for that game. Personally i would use the 190.38s unless your in need of all those hybrid/sleep other features.
On my M17 i scored something like 77fps at 1920x1200 8xAA Ill have to run it again and upload a shot but drivers sure do make all the difference.
Heres everything set High 8xaa then no AA on my M17.
-
Ok. I am now using 186.82. You guys win. That did the trick (more or less).
I maxed everything out and on average I am scoring 59FPS. Much better than my previous scores by something like 20FPS or more. I was getting 30something with most of the stuff set to LOW and on a little resolution...
Anyway. It's not the performance I would like, but I can deal with it until new drivers come up. It's very playable now. Before it was ridiculous.
Rep coming for everyone that pitched in.
Thanks. Any special setting you guys are using to hit those marks make sure you post them here so I can try myself. But up to this point I am OK now. Finally I can go to sleep. -
I thought that was like the first thing everyone did when experiencing game problems..... to try a new driver...
-
I know, I know... Now I max out everything you can think of and I'm getting solid 66FPS on average.
All this just because I didn't want to try a beta driver... *sigh* -
-
Instead of focusing on benchmark results, have you tried playing the game - how does it perform? Are you experiencing any performance-related issues which are preventing you from enjoying/playing the game?
Is my Street Fighter IV running OK?
