    2 ghz core duo
    2 gig ram
    Nvidia Quadro 140m (Geforce 8400gs/gt)

I think it would be good enough for medium?

Make sure you install service pack one for FSX, it has a lot of performance improvements.

    Cool,

Around Medium, that was about what I was expecting.

Will my graphics improve if I play on an external monitor?

Depends on what you mean by graphics. If you mean FPS, no. The same resolution with the same settings takes the same power to render; whether you are running 10x12 on your 15" notebook or your 20" desktop monitor will make no difference in your FPS. If you mean image quality, then yes and no... the rendered image will be the same, but if your laptop LCD is poor, it may seem better. Also, CRT's remove the issue of LCD scaling at non-native resolutions, which may help in certain instances. However, for all intents and purposes, the image will be nearly identical.

Does anyone use multiple monitors for flight sim x? It would be cool to have all controls on one screen, and the flight view on another.
