I'm not a huge gamer but it bugs when things don't work the way I think they should. DOD was my favorite game back in the day and since I got a new laptop because I needed a new computer I bought DOD:S and CS:S. I got an HP with the dual core T6400 2.0ghz, 4 gb ram, Radeon ATI 4650 1 gb ram, Vista home premium. I did a stress test with CS:S and I got back like 170 fps on the recommended settings, I was like cool. However, with the net_graph 1 option I get good fps like 80 percent of the time over 60 and then at certain places it drops to 40 - 45. This is ticking me off. I want 60 fps constantly and I don't think it's that much to ask with moderate settings on a 5 year game. Lowering or upper settings really doesn't change much. Anybody have any suggestions? If not I guess I just won't play games on this machine, it's not really why I bought to begin with. It's just that I think with the 1 grand I paid it should run DOD:S at 60 geez.

its your cpu. source engine is hard on the cpu and counter strike source doesnt have multicore support. in dod:s make sure you have the multicore option on.

I have enabled multcore with DOD and it didn't seem to make a difference. Oh well.

To update I updated the drivers from ATI for windows 7 and it's runs great on DOD:S. I really hate the bloatware from the HP vista install and plus it's drivers for the 4650 are really bad apparently.
