This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Yes that's the whole point, it's a WASH money-wise. I wouldn't even consider it if it were going to cost me hundreds.

    If it's a wash, then I'd say he should go for it. As stated, it won't make your games run worse(unless they're horribly coded games form the 90s or something) so you'll only gain in terms of performance.

    Looks like htwingnut is going for it so I'm going to close this thread since it has run its course.

    Be sure to run some benchmarks on the C2Ds you have now and run the same benchmarks after the upgrade, let us know how it goes.
