it's the only one that comes with the dv8000t, so I want to know how it rates, will I be able to play new games with it

I think Oblivion runs on a min of 128megs, so that's one of my concerns.

Yeah the 7600 is a good card. You will be able to run most of the new games at medium/high settings.

it really depends on what you are expecting of it, but like others said it will play new games at medium-high settings and res.

I have a dv8000t and am very satisfied with my Go7600. Like the above posters said, you can play anything out there at medium/high-high settings with the possible exception of Oblivion which I have to run at 1024x768 at medium settings to get good framerates. I can actually get it to run pretty well at 1280x800, but have to drop some settings a bit.

Also, the new bios for the dv8000t locks the video card frequencies so you can't overclock. If you flash back to the f.09 bios, they are unlocked and you can overclock with the coolbits hack. That version of the bios is no longer available on HP's site, but if you want it, PM me and I'll email it to you.

I saw a fairly significant increase in performance by overclocking. Stock 3dmark05 score was around 3400, overclocked I get 3900 (can get as high as 4000 but I get artifacts in some games at that setting).

    I have a toshiba a100-sk9 I can confirm winterymix's results.

I actually got as high 4120 at 500/450. Ran with no artifacts. But I didn't try it mroe than once..
