I've been searching around but there does not seem to be an answer regarding the 9300M. I've heard its based on the 8400 GPU which is defective. My Go 7600 recently died so should I buy a 9300M or get an integrated Intel X4500?
-
Likely not as the manufacturing process was changed getting rid of the problems that were causing the defective cards to die. Also you do know that the 9300m or the X4500 will run FAR worse than your 7600.
-
Yeah, I know, but I don't plan on playing any heavy gaming. But is there any to know FOR SURE whether its not defective?
-
No way will you be able to know about whether the 9 series is defective. Just give it a year or so. After that only the troubles start. My advise opt for the Intel one or an ATI based laptop.

My 9300m is working fine in n10j....bought it 2 weeks ago.
-
Hmmm...But the thing is you'll only know its defective a year or so later, like my 7600. I think Ill just go with the Integrated Intel X4500 it can play team fortress 2 and thats the only game I care for

People keep blowing the "defective nVidia GPUs" out of proportion. You will be fine, but as mentioned before, the 7600M series would outperform the 9300M series.
Is the 9300M defective?
