Can someone please clarify this for me?
I am trying to buy my first laptop and I want to know what I am purchasing here.
When customizing the HP Pavilion dv5t through HP.com it lists Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X4500 as the integrated graphics card and I read on a few threads here that there are two versions of Intel's mobile IGP? The X4500 and the 4500MHD?
But it was also mentioned on here that they are actually both the same thing and both support high definition. How would I know if the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X4500 from HP.com support high definition or if its the actual 4500MHD version?
Also, is true that the X4500/4500MHD has the same performance as the 256MB NVIDIA GeForce 9200M GS? Does that mean they both use up the same the amount of battery power?

They're the same thing. They do support HD.
And they do not have the same performance as Nvidia 9200M GS. Nvidia 9200M GS will perform better with games and 3d rendering. -
Nvidia 9200gs is >2 times stronger then x4500

If the X4500 is in a laptop, they are all X4500MHDs.
(Think about it, wouldn't it be stupid to put a more power hungrier desktop IGP chipset into a laptop?? What would be the point?? Using an IGP for lower power, but using a desktop chipset??)
If its in a desktop, you could get confused. Some rare manufacturers put GM45 chipset(which is a mobile chipset) so you can pair a mobile Core 2 Duo for a low power desktop PC. But if you would look carefully, you would know by the chipset naming whether its a mobile version or a desktop version(GM45=mobile, G45=desktop).
Is the IGP in the HP DV5t X4500 or 4500MHD?
