I just purchased a hp dv8000t T2500 core duo and plan to upgrade its ram to 2GB. I'm not too interested in FPS gaming, but I am an avid strategy gamer. So my main concern is will my new laptop purchase be able to play civ IV, age of empire, and all the other future strategy games. Any response will be helpful. Thanks in advance.

My dv8000t should be here by next week, and I'm almost 100% sure that you should be able to play those games with ease, as well as most all upcoming RTS's, and with all options maxed out.

Well, i think it a big YES for Civ and AoE
For future RTS, I can only think of C&C3: Tiberium War and Supreme Commander and I think you can play it at least medium to low setting.
