Trying to get HDMI on laptop to work connected to HDMI on TV. Nothing presently happens  can't even detect the tv when plugged in and can't find any HDMI specific controls?

Can someone either point me in the right direction or perhaps help me if they know how to get it to work. Laptop in sig.

I would have to assume its video drivers or bios causing your problem.

Once you have the HDMI cable in it should detect the monitor in your display control panel.

It could also just be a bad hdmi cable.

In your case specifically it could be something to do with incompatibility with the mods you have done.

I am leaning toward it being a driver issue but where would I start? Any particular catalyst drivers better than others? Currently running 11.3.

I would just run the newest and make sure you didnt have to do any kind of crazy mobility mod to make it work.

In general when modding is when a feature is lost or a issue crops up. I have seen modded drivers lose HDMI functionality before and it was just a matter of rolling back to stock drivers to fix it.

I suppose given rare circumstance the C90S could be so old that Asus designed it in a way that ONLY the Asus drivers work with the HDMI.

I am not using modded mobility ones. Never had to. The stock ones work 100% out of the box (although never tried the HDMI capability until this weekend)

You say I have modded the machine which is true but in the graphcs card department it was a straight upgrade that was plug and play both software and hardware wise. I do admit though the HDMI port may have been designed to work only with nvdia asus drivers. There should be a workaround surely though if this is even true?

edit: done some reading on here and another user got a 3650 to run HDMI on the C90 so looks like ati cards should be able to HDMI. Now to find the method to make it work!
