Is it software or BIOS configurable? seeker_moc, I would like your help, since I know your GPU is the same, and you have flashed its BIOS and OC'd.

So, I only want to increase the bandwidth, because, from what I heard, higher the bandwidth, higher is the res you can play fluently. I think my fillrates and texel fillrates and clocks are OK, I just want to increase the bandwidth a little.

    FYI : Stock bandwidth is @ 25.6Gb/s

    Thanks!

    OC'ing memory increases bandwidth.

But you can't physically change from 128-bit to 256-bit.

No, I'm not talking about bus width :)

But, how much would I need to OC to get, say, 30Gb/s?

Like he said. OC memory to increase bandwidth.

Yup oc your memory clock. My old 8800m gts could get over 60gb per second when it was overclocked.

You'll need to overclock the memory to ~938 MHz to hit 30 GB/s.

What's the equation to know how much clock speed I need for X bandwidth?

overclock by x mhz, write down the mhz and the bandwidth you get say in gpuz, then plug the values @ zunzun.com lol

    Don't be lazy.

    (Memory clock speed x Bus width x (2) / 8) / 1000 = Theoretical memory bandwidth in GB/s.

    The 2 in parenthesis is a variable, pending on your memory type. If you have DDR3, it's 2; DDR4 = 3, DDR5 = 4.

Your HD 5650 has a 128 bit bus width, with GDDR3 memory running at 800 MHz, so...

    ((800 x 128 x 2) / 8) / 1000 = 25.6
