Is there any console-like overlay for games on Windows 7 (non-steam)?

Well, I have a lot of non-steam games and would like to be able to view and select them in a nice, clean fluid style as in the layout of the consoles or maybe even the Windows 8 tile setup. Currently I just have all the shortcuts in a folder on my desktop - and instead of going in the folder I would like to be able to select them in a more user friendly manner - kind of like Steam Big Picture mode. It doesnt have to be full-screen, just an overlay that I can scroll through the games and select what I want without opening the folder.

I know this sounds kind of dumb... but I just want to make selecting games a bit more interesting, instead of the same old bland windows style of things. And I know that I can put the games as non-steam games on steam, but I just want to know if I have any other options. Thanks!

Windows 8.1 start screen. You can pin games. Can't think of anything else besides Steam.

Try XBMA. It's still one of the best front ends for what you want to do.

Lol yes that's it , sorry it's been a while. But it works a treat and can make it do anything you want. If you spend time setting things up its pretty impressive.
I use to have all my movies, music, emulators running on it in an old system.
You can really do some interesting things if you use Xpadder and shortcuts with it too.

XBMC is great for media. I didn't know it could be set up for games though.

I searched up XMBC and it looks awesome! It rivals even Steam Big Picture Mode. This is exactly what I was looking for, it even has a clean layout for emulators - since playing the real console on my TV looks like crap :D

Turn Your XBMC Media Center into a Video Game Console

I might have to give XBMC a run for its money to serve movies and tv shows from my WHS. Looks like a decent interface. Can it stream DLNA?

You can add non-steam game on your steam library list too. So you can view them all, in big picture.

Yes, I know that already. If you read my original post I was asking for anything that isn't Steam, because Steam doesn't show pictures of the games in big-screen mode.

Lol small things like that bug me too. You can get some pretty good scrips happening in XBMC so that it will automatically launch an emulator then the rom in one click.
