Is this a GTX 680m? And, are my Quadro 4000m SLI capable?

Been getting some weird cards again...

I have 2 Quadro 4000m QS cards. They are 1gb each and have SLI connectors. So many questions. Are they SLI capable? Whats the deal with these cards?

And of course, more interestingly, is this a GTX 680m or not? Keeping in mind the Quadros have SLI connectors so the fact that this one doesn't have an SLI connector isn't really an indication of anything (other than that its QS or ES).

Can anyone tell if its a 2gb or 4gb card? Hopefully not 1gb?

    Thanks.

Below is a GTX680M Clevo OEM's Die area and uses Samsung DRAM:

Not sure how big is the vram size in the picture you showed as hynix's H5GQ2H24AFR-T2C comes with 3 sizes, 1GB, 2GB or 4GB and all have 16 banks and capable of doing 5.0Gbps depending on the voltage.

You might want to try the card out first.

Why doesn`t it say anything about what GPU it is on the die?

And Quadro K4000M or Quadro 4000M? And why are you suspecting it to be a 680M? Or are we talking about two separate GPUs here where your picture is not the Quadro but maybe the 680M?

Sorry for all the questions, but your post was kinda weird :p

I dunno, probably because its ES or QS, they often don't have the GPU info on the die.
Haha, sorry. We are talking about 2 separate GPUs, the quadro 4000m are obviously gf104.

I'm pretty sure the card pictured is a gtx 680m. At the price I'm getting it... I think it will be worth it either way. ;) Its definitely kepler...

Might as well try the card and see if the device ID is 11A0 :D. If it's not 11A0 then it's not GTX680M.

Actually thats not necessarily true, but yeah I will find out one way or another. If its Kepler with ~1344 shaders and 256 bit GDDR5, then it might as well be a GTX 680m, frankly I don't care too much if its 1gb or 1366 shaders as long as it isn't vastly underclocked like some ES cards. Technically some of these specs are up to the manufacturer, it could be 128 bit ddr3 and still be a GTX 680m just like some of those gimped GTX 460m.

Does anyone have any tips for general compatibility with older non optimus laptops?

Even the QS version has device ID 11A0, if it's not 11A0, the other card with 1344 shaders is K5000M.
