    Hi there

I'm looking at buying this laptop as I'm getting annoyed at my current laptop not being capable of running games in anything but the lowest settings.

So is this laptop any good for running games such as oblivion or CoD 4? It appears to have an Nvidia Geforce 8400M GS from what I've read on a couple of sites.

Any advice/help would be appreciated :)

For that price, you could find a laptop with a 8600m GT.

Fill out the FAQ and post here.

Make sure (call them or look at the model) to know which card is there as I can't see any info besides having 256MB RAM dedicated. Because it has 256MB I don't think it is a 8400M model, since I usually see those models only with 128MB.

That seems expensive for a 8400m.

Like Crash said, you could get a laptop with a 8600m GT for that price. It is a lot more powerful. Try going to dell.com and configuring an inspiron or a vostro.

If you must buy that model, the 8400m can run COD4 well, since it is a highly optimised game.

If you want Acer notebook, take a look at the Aspire 5920 with nvidia 8600GT, but yeah, it's 15.4" if you can live with :)
