I hate Grid with a vengeance. I'm part of a online racing game league, and it was a little bored with rFactor visuals. Then I bought Grid, and although the game is gorgeous, the tires made of soap make me absolutely crazy. I can't understand how so much people can like it.

Downloaded the WoW trial... Add it to the list. Hated it more than BioShock.

I can't believe I missed Halo in my original post. To me, Halo PC proved exactly what I felt about Halo: when the game is forced to compete on a platform known for its shooters and for the most part fails, that tells me the only reason Halo did so well on the Xbox was because the competition was so poor. It's like half my classes: you don't have to write a great paper, you just have to write a better paper than everyone else.
I do want to remind people not to flame each other or question one another's "humanity" for their likes and dislikes here. I really don't care for WW2 shooters or the Half-Life games either (again, except for Half-Life 2: Episode Two, which felt like a solid refinement and an excellent progression of the story).
I didn't include Crysis earlier because it seems to be a split decision: some people are like "OMG GREATEST GAME EVER" and then some of us are like "you're kidding, right?" I've already gone on about what an unimaginative, horribly coded, and unspeakably racist pile I think that game is in other threads.
A couple of people mentioned Mass Effect...for me, it took a little time to really get its claws in, but I grew up on Star Trek: The Next Generation, so the idea of being part of the crew of a starship got me. To the one who said he only tried it for five minutes...it's an RPG. Dismissing an RPG after five minutes is like watching the opening credits for a movie then shutting it off. Give it some more time, it really picks up speed depending on how you choose to play it.
As for Oblivion, that game has stolen countless hours of my life, but the trick seems to be to build an "assassin" class: sneaking around, capping people with arrows. Standard melee classes are boring, and magic users take too long to become useful.
Sidenote: I hated Morrowind. People liked it why? Anyone who complains about the combat in Oblivion but then talks about how great Morrowind is should be beaten with a sock full of quarters. -
I love Halo 3 online. One thing I particularly like about this game is that as far as FPS's go, it provides the most complete multiplayer experience for those who like to play console FPS's with friends (in the same room).
Me and some of my friends often play online split screen multiplayer (something thats not in COD4 or battlefield BC), online campaign coop etc. They really give you the option to play it with your friends any way you wanna play it. For that it gets too little credit and for that it is my favourite shooter. I would play a lot of other games this way if i had the option to. For me and my friends , COD4 for example is not something we can play. Not that we dont like it, but we dont have the gameplay options to enjoy it together. I think that if more people would actually play with friends instead of alone Halo3 would be more appreciated. -

My friend let me try his copies of HL and HL2 and I found them very boring. That grav gun thingy was pretty neat if that's any consolation?

GRID anyone? I hate how my car turn 360 everytime I tried to turn left ot right.

Bioshock, Mass Effect.

What do you do with all the games you listed here?
Do you sell it/Give it to someone/Let the dust sink in?
Personally, I just keep it and the dust do its work, expect for Steam games.
by the way, can I give games in steam to my friend? -

I'm really into recent RTS (played LOTR, CnC: generals, CnC3, CnC: RA3 beta, DoW, CoH:OF,WiC, SC...) and I like all of them (CoH being the best) except Supreme Commander. Lots of people seem to like SC but I remember me trying to learn how to play it but find it too complex and way too slow imo and I eventually gave up coz I get no fun out of it.
I also hate WiC coz it feels too team-based, I don't have lots of RTS friends so it's just not fun. Don't like the missions for it too.
I don't really like (not hate, just don't find them much fun to play) GoW or the HL series as well... Both of them gets boring kinda fast for me but I do like Portal. -
Hmmm. I've been in a serious gaming lull for a few years, sadly.
I've purchased pretty much every hyped or well reviewed game for PC, XBOX360, and Wii. And I enjoyed some of them...but I haven't gotten an "OH AWESOME" rush I got with classics like Age of Empires 1, Myst, Wolfenstein, Alone in the Dark (The first one), Red Alert 1, NetStorm, or GoldenEye 64.
I played all of the Halo games, purely because I got into the book series (which was actually decent, light sci-fi). If the in-game storyline were as deep as what is portrayed in the books, Halo would be twice as popular as it is now. Then again, they ARE making a movie, so it is already fairly popular.
I think the most recent *This is awesome* games I have enjoyed were Everquest, Half-Life 1, Beyond Good & Evil (not for everyone), and that's it.
I've played WoW off-and-on since launch, but it can never keep my attention for more than a week per half-year. I enjoyed Mass Effect and Bioshock, but I still can't will myself to finish them. I DID finish Half-Life 2 and Portal. I think HL2 is great for its storyline and atmosphere, the gameplay was alright.
I think what I really need to get into a game is a worthwhile and mature storyline. Sadly, games are the absolute WORST medium for conveying storyline. They work well as narrative vehicles, but only when created by very talented developers. Gaming is continuing to grow, and I hope it can get past these awkward years quickly. I miss loving gaming! *sobs* -
Diablo, Starcraft, World of Warcraft, Warcraft etc.
Pretty much everything Blizzard has made. -
Unless you just went out 2 months ago and bought them..
In that case you just bought some old ass games to compare right next to your new ones.
And WoW is a grind.
Who doesn't hate a grind? -
For the people who find Half-Life 2 overrated: remember that all the innovations in Half-life 2 are pretty much standard fare now. Half-Life 2 was revolutionary for it's time, it's just not as amazing as it was because there are other good developers who have since caught up to where Valve was four years ago.
We're getting spoiled. -
Isn't there a game where everbody likes it expect for you...
