I have a MSI GT70 that is locking up when I try to join a match on Borderlands. I can play single player with no issue but if a friend sends and invite as soon as I accept the game locks up. I have to cntrl+alt+del to force it to close. If I try to join a public match, same thing. I thought it might have been my wireless card but I tried a usb wireless adapter and same thing. I thought it might have been an issue with my steam/gamespy account but I logged on to another machine and it worked fine. I have also tried joining matches on other games and have had no issue. Any ideas what the problem is? Thanks for any help.

i've had this issue in the past, as have my friends. For all of us, every single time, it was ALWAYS that somebody had OC'ed.
If you oc'ed, undo it, disable any 'auto'oc'ing stuff as well, and try it out.
As a side note, it doesnt matter if the oc is 100% or 101% stable in EVERYTHING, even having an overclock of 1mghz seemed to crash the game for my friend.
Failing that, my on last laptop my sound was causing it to c rash, but ONLY in multiplayer, could player sp all day, but would crash in 5 or so minutes of MP. -
Nothing oc'ed. everything is pretty much stock. it worked a few weeks ago but is not working now for some reason. I have uninstalled and am reinstalling BL's so we will see how that goes.
