Hey I hope one of you guys can help me out...

Just recently I purchased the download version of this game, The game installed correctly and runs flawlessly on my G73, but I can only run it into Arcade Mode, due to the fact that at the start screen when you are prompt to create a career if you select that the game frezzes. the only way to play it is selecting Arcade.

I did some research and turns out some other people had the same problem when they had an extra input device on the computer besides the mice and keyb. I tried to get it solved contacting Codemasters support... Long story short, I'm not buying a game from them again EVER.
Codemasters did patch the game and solve this issue but that patch did not cover the downloadble version of the game, only the retail. so it was useless.

Did anybody on the forum ran into a similar issue with that game? did you manage to solve it?

    Thanks

I didn't even know there was an arcade mode! I bought the game off of steam and it runs just fine. I have hook up an xbox 360 controller to it to play and it runs just fine. Could it be that you are not logged into windows live that is why it freezes on you?

I have only the retail disc version of Dirt 2, and it has generally run without problems (decent game too). The one time it really froze and locked up on me was when Windows Live (stupid crap) was trying to update itself at the menu screen. I had to kill dirt2 via the task manager, update Windows Live separately and then reload. It ran fine after that.

Are you logged into Windows Live? IIRC, you can't save your campaign progress without it (another stupid flaw).
