One of my old nes's is alive! By some form of magick I was able to resurrect it from the dead...

It's sitting in between two high tech pcs, using a 90's tv, on a rf unit...

Only thing is, I suck. Died 5 seconds in :(

Interesting. I thought so at the time but looking back I preferred the games on my SNES to those on my cousin's Megadrive, apart from Sonic of course.

Ooh, why did Sega have to die >_<

We could've been playing the Dreamcast 2 by now.

LOL My realistic Dreamcast 2 specs, considering it would've been out some time before the 360 (like around Fall 2004).........

    -AMD TL-"SDC2" Dual Core CPU running @ 2.8 GHz w/ 1 MB L2 Cache x 2
-ATi GPU based on the R520 Core (like the X1800) @ 500 MHz w/ 256 MB GDDR3 dedicated VRAM (1400 MHz effective) w/ 6 MB eDRAM frame buffer with full HD capabilities to 1080p
-256 MB GDDR3 1.2 GHz Dedicated SDRAM (GPU can use this RAM if needed)
-30 GB 7200 RPM SATA HDD
-Full online gaming capabilities. Online play would be free.

    Price: $300.00 US

BLOL it woulda been outclassed by the 360 when it came around, but it would've been easy as pie to develope on and port games to! ^_____^

Nice. Blast from the past...the NES days were memorable in their own right.

Because they released a dozen systems in the span of like 3 years, and basically had no clue about what gamers and game developers wanted in a system. If you ask me, they got lucky with the Genesis, and then it all went downhill from there starting with the 32X *vomitus maximus*.

Hey, the 32x had Doom, Virtual Fighter, a great version of Mortal Kombat, and....

Ok, you got me there, but it had potential...

That is true. Sega released way too much new technology way too early all in such a short time frame. Between the Genesis (Megadrive to some of you) and the Saturn, they should've released nothing relating to hardware. It's of interesting note though, that the Saturn was a great deal more powerful than the Playstation, because it had seperate 2D and 3D processors, which in hand made the Saturn a ***** to program for, shying developers away from it, or never realizing the console's true capabilities. If you want proof of how powerful the Saturn really was, watch this video: http://youtube.com/watch?v=GiSgX5lDKqU

Yes, Shenmue was originally intended for the Saturn, and for that generation of consoles, it looks amazing.

Impressive...I didn't realize that tech was that advanced for that point in time.....though....i find that game vids always have better graphics than ingame graphics.

I always liked the TurboGrafix 16.

Those credit card like cartridges I thought were amazing.

Plus, the cartridges worked in their portable unit too ...

The good old days ... :)

A friend of mine got his NES working again somehow (although it doesn't turn off, just always on) and I've played a few games over there. It makes me wish mine worked again. :( Those were the good old days. It took you like 60 seconds to finish a level in Mario. No matter how good games get, I still find myself going back to the old SNES (it still works!!!). And the N64, but that's a little newer. :)
