Hi, i want buy notebook ...

I want a good notebook, so i can play new games like oblivion and so on ...

So... i have notebook chosen ...so u have to say ... is it good notebook to buy ?

And plsease tell me more about this grapics card . I dunno much about theace words like pixel shader , memory interface and so on.

Any dedicated video card is gonna cut down on the life, esp. since you'd be gaming.

The X1800 actually has good battery life.

 

You wont get much more than 2 hours anyways considering its a 17-inch laptop.

 

Amilo Xi 1546 has propably the one of the best performance for a price ratio among "gaming laptops". This handles games like Oblivion pretty well, almost everything at high. I recommend you to get 2 gigs of ram if you want to play with even higher settings and get rid of any stuttering you might experience with any of the latest games. This is very pronounced in game like FEAR, where High texture setting is the only setting that causes stuttering with 1 gig of ram. Everything else can be maxed. Get the 2GB ram and you can propably play any game smoothly with all the game settings at highest.

yeah but im in estonia ...so there isnt such servise as customize notebook ...
and i guess if ill buy this ram then i have to add new 1 and just throw away old1 ...and im sure that it is very hard to find ram for xi 1546

i think that this notebook is almost the best in my country and it costs around 1700 $
And ... as i see u got Fujitsu-Siemens also ... so then u should no about battery

 

It's not hard to find ram for xi 1546. You would want two 1GB SO-DIMMs with 533Mhz or 667Mhz. Would this link help you? I don't use my laptop with battery. With battery it lasts about 1h 45mins if you keep everything at batterysaving and dim screen. You might want to read this review.

 

yeah but i can easly change 1 ram chip only ... then i can get one 512 mb 533 ram and other 1 gb (faster) ... and how many ports for ram there is ..?

and where i can buy/order other battery for this notebook ?

 

There's no more than two memory slots in any notebook. There's no more powerful batteries or additional batteries for this notebook. This is actually a desktop replacement notebook, not something you carry with you everywhere. Get smaller laptop with lesser graphics card if battery life matters to you.
