Ok, I wanted to test out my GTX 485m a bit, and loaded up Just Cause 2, but it only shows me the launch screen then crashes to desktop. Won't run. I have a fresh install of Windows, latest drivers available for my video card and everything else, nothing running in the background (I mean nothing except windows processes) except Steam of course, because required to run the game.
Anyone else experience this and how to fix? Thanks.

Nevermind. I did a Steam check content and Steam fragmentation, while it didn't find anything wrong, I went to start the game, and it gave me a counter that said "completing installation" and then it ran. Weird.

Oh you goldfish~ It's common sense to verify file integrity if it involves steam before posting here
Which reminds me I have Just Cause 2... When the hell did I get it ._. -
I dunno. I have so many games now on Steam, I don't know when I got them either, lol. Common sense? I'm a goldfish what do you want?
BTW, Vicious crushed me at SC2 last night, as to be expected. I was trying to destroy him with my single medivac in the end, but it just sat there, wouldn't even kamikazee into his army of colossususssuses -

HT, did you happen to download Just Cause 2 for the new machine or did you transfer it from another install, using the steamapps folder copy method?
I find that I have the exact same problem with JC2 if I copy it from a previous install when reformatting, or from a different machine. -
Whatever, works now, thanks.

I ran my GTX 485m at stock speeds and got 3DMark 11 of P2933. No doubt the 6970 will give the 485m a run for its money though. GTX 485m is a little expensive, but glad I've got mine now. Probably kick myself later when I see the real pricing for 6970 but whatever. It gets the job done. -
I dont care about benching so much as for real games. The gtx485m is very fast in games, so i realy doubt the 6970 would beat it.
