Just wanted to promote a game that I think will be pretty cool when it comes out later this month. I liked the first one enough and the second one looks like it improves on everything from the first game.

I'll let you folks know what I think and would like to hear anyone else's thoughts.

The following is STEAM link for the demo

Just got done playing the demo, this game is awesome! I can't wait! I also enjoyed the first one, and they did improve things.

First of all, I am amazed and in love with the graphics engine! Wow, even on my m11x, I run the game on high and 1366x768 @ 40-60+ fps, and it looks great. When I saw the requirements and that it required DX10, I was worried, but for no reason. They did well, very well.

Gameplay wise, tight controls, just a really fun 3rd person shooter! I can't stop shooting the gas tanks and watching them explode or shoot the propane tanks and watching them fly and shoot all over the place. Just plain fun! Great demo, and looking forward to the game.

    Thanks for the link.

Haven't played the first one, let alone heard about it!

But I will have to try the demo, see how it is.

Btw, to the OP, love the first part of your Sig. Love the one's where he had a mix of comedy and serious/realism.

I just tried this Demo and it was great fun, it is highly likely I will buy this one. Recommended specs mention 3GB of RAM, I don't remember seeing many games recommending that level of RAM much.

Yeah I was doing the same thing, Then I would ride on them and jump off and use my parachute. That's all I was doing I didn't even try doing the missions.

Yeah, after glancing at the system requirements, I was a bit worried... the only other game I have that requires DX10 is Shattered Horizon, and it's a bit brutal on my hardware... this game though, just flat runs great and looks just as good. Very impressed.

I've now played through the demo 5 times XD theres enough in the demo alone to keep me occupied for hours, I imagine the full game will have days of things to do.

I played this demo, and I had absolutely no diea it was DX10 exclusive or any craziness like that. I turned everything on (minus SSAO), and holy $#$^#@%&*! Everything is so crisp and clean, without any stuttering or frame rate problems. I was thoroughly impressed. I'm still thinking about buying the full game. It seems like a great way to vent frustration.

    My spec:

    NP9262
    Q9650 @ 3.0GHz
    2x 9800m GTX SLi
    4GB RAM

Anti-aliasing was off as well, by the way. Forgot about that part. The game still looks stunning without it.

yeah, i'm enjoying the demo very much. I just figured out how to grapple people to cars and propane tanks and whatnot, too much fun! I will be purchasing this game when it comes out.

xTank: Thanks, I'm a big Calvin & Hobbes fan and that is one of my favorite quotes, one amongst many.

watched my friend play the demo on his 9800m gts today, he had to turn it down a bit to optimize, but it still looked awesome. (turned down from native 1920x1200 though, still was high res)

I'm enjoying the demo and I also found a little something that enhances my experience. :D

    Here it is. ;)
    http://forums.somethingawful.com/showthread.php?threadid=3274854

    - Demo time limit 'removed'.
    - Demo map limit removed.
    - Introduction cutscenes removed.
    - All vehicles in the demo available through black market for free.
    - All weapons in the demo available through black market for free.
    - Upgrades for vehicles and weapons are free.
    - Spiffy black market images for all of the vehicles since the demo didn't have
    them.

I had a feeling that something like this would happen with such an extensive demo, I feared some one would simply turn it into something like the full game. Hopefully those hacks enable people to enjoy the Demo more so they will get more sales. I definitely plan on buying this one though.

The only thing that would stop me buying this one was if they did something like AC2 DRM

WTH! A shot at an explosive barrel, a grapple onto the top of the barrel just before it lifts of launching you into the air on top of it allowing you to pick of enemies on the ground below.

This demo is pretty awesome. Seems like it's more of a console shooter than a PC one.

this is the gta-wannabe's sequel rite? NVM THIS, I was thinking bout true crime :D
if it's optimized and this time actually fun to play, then darn, that's great news..!
just look at how sh**ty optimization was in gta iv. and saints row 2, freakin' unplayable. (but not worthwhile anyway)

gonna dl the demo.. damn, it indeed looks nice, just looking at some pix & such..

edit: is it only gonna be available thru steam? (or steam integrated even on retail?)

Ran pretty rough on my 8600M GT. If you like sandbox games (i.e. GTA) this should keep you occupied for quite some time. Lots of over the top stuff to do. Not really my thing though.

This game is definitely a console shooter. The aiming is soooooo incredibly easy.

yeah the game does feel like a console game but it is very fun. that "crack" makes the demo so much better and i will most likely pick this game up.

I agree that GTA IV was poorly optimised but Saints Row 2 was much worse. However, I absolutely love playing Saints Row 2, it is really fun and has some hilarious touches to it, I average about 35-40+ fps maxed out with that one on my laptop at native resolution.

Just Cause 2 seems to be pretty well optimised and does appear to have some GTA design elements. I guess anyone designing an open world title will be stupid not to look at GTA IV for ideas or help in some way.

I hope Just Cause 2 sells really well and that the PC gaming community support it. Releasing it on Steam will surely help.

on the xbox 360 version there's a glitch the stop the time running out but for some reason it also let me out of the boundries, at the edge of the demo is just water and cars drive straight into it LOL

as you can see underwater are roads lol, and you can see under the mountain. if you try to swim under you end up spawning back on the land.
