Anyone else had performance issues with this game? I can't even run the game smoothly on high at 1366x768, I even turned off lots of visual effects, but still the FPS dips below 20 in big heavy gun fights. Heck, I even got much better results with Crysis. So is this common that this game is very demanding or I missed something?

Any advice/answers will be appreciated! Computer spec is in my signature(the Asus)

Im running it fine on my desktop with a i5 650 with 6gd DDR3 and a gt230 which has 1.5gb DDR2 and i run it in 1920x1080 at medium and only really get slight slowdowns in big battles for example when im taking over a bigger base. Its perfectly playable though. Maybe the game is CPU intensive because i reckon your GPU is as powerful or more powerful than mine.

I manage to get 30fps with my setup at 1440*900 and most settings on high? however I have to overclock my CPU to 2900ghz and the game utilises nearly 100% of both my cores so your CPU might be struggling, I cant believe its your GPU as im running 8700mgt SLI.

Edit: Antialiasing adds a huge amount to processing speed just try it without that on and see if there is a difference.

    SSAO = off/low
    high res shadows = off
    gpu water = off
    bokeh filter = off

the last 2 are nvidia specific (physx) and can cripple a laptop with a single card.
ssao has a huge impact as does shadows, both of these are not worth the performance hit for visuals imo.

it is a very demanding game and even with everything at low/med, looks absoloutly stunning.

try turning everything down to the lowest, set the res at 800x600 and see if it runs ok, if it does, then increase the res and bump things up slowly.

if it runs like crap at 800x600 with everything off/low... chances are you'll never run it on that system.

hmm, that's a bit strange, I carefully checked the CPU usage while running this game, both cores never reached 100%, mostly they were around 80% or so. I even ran the in game benchmark with different CPU speed(2.26GHZ VS 2.76GHZ), it turned out the end results were pretty similar.

@xeroxide i have almost every special effect off, but I do set textures on high though. I will check them again and see if their is anything missing.

try another driver first. if that doesnt work, you have your gpu undervolted, and im thinking youre gpu may not be getting enough juice with all the graphical detail/settings of jc2 (even on low/med). you may want to try restoring to default voltage if all else fails

2900 ghz, huh? That ought to be able to play everything on high until... well, probably long after you're gone.

I had some performance issues with this game as well, and I can run crysis fine :p

Basically you should turn off SSAO, high res shadows, gpu sims, ect..like xeroxide said.

Or it could be a driver problem. When I updated drivers, game worked fine. Well, improved FPS with those off though. Better then old driver.
