I was tweaking the settings in Catalyst after I installed the new 7.2 drivers when I noticed something weird...

Speed seems really slow according to Catalyst for a Radeon X1400, did ATi underclock my card or something?

Your probably running at the "Max Battery Life" power scheme for the card. I've found with Vista you have to change it to the PowerPlay scheme you want and then reboot the computer :(.

Yea, those are not stock clocks speeds. ;) GPUs underclock when on battery or not in use to conserve battery and reduce heat.

I'm actually connected to AC and PowerPlay isn't enabled. But thanks for the response vespoli, that makes sense.

I reverted back to 6.12, not because of the original problem I listed, just I couldn't stand lagging in BF2142 with the new drivers. And, my speed is back at what it should be. (I noticed that while even gaming, my memory speed never changed from the memory speed I had in the picture).
