Very surprising they did this for a 10+ year old game and didn't charge any money for it like so many other companies do. You gotta love PC gaming!

Aspyr and Feral Interactive are the two main firms that port AAA and other titles to OS X. They have an excellent reputation in the Mac gaming community (such that it is) delivering high quality software and responsive support. Nice to see Aspyr bringing some love to the Windows side of things as well.

Not to mention Linux. Whenever I see a game get a Linux port I get a little happier

Now if only they would apply the same magic to the original KOTOR I'd love to play both back to back.

I tried to replay KOTOR a few months back, but the 21:9 cutscenes inside a 4:3 screen was just too painful...

Definitely going to have to replay this now.

Warms my heart to see there are still companies that care enough to do this, cost/profit ratio be damned. Reminds me of when Halo PC got patched last year before the GameSpy shutdown. This is the kind of thing that restores my faith in humanity PC gaming. I hope first KOTOR gets the same love too, but they were made by different devs so who knows what's going on behind the scenes. Technical improvements aside, arguably KOTOR 2 was in more dire need of this patch due to all the cut content.

Aspyr did the port for KOTOR for Mac and the way the announcement was phrased Obsidian didn't have anything to do with the updates for KOTOR2.

Seems to be a lot of "please do this for KOTOR" in the various forums. Hopefully Disney Interactive/LucasArts will listen... or are already working on it. Honestly I just want widescreen and controller support.

I would definitely play it again if that happened.

I installed this with the Restored Content mod from the Steam Workshop and looks way better than I remember it when I played back on the Xbox back in the day (never played the PC port).

That's what I'm wondering since I've never played them yet. I do own them but they are on my ever growing backlog list.

As long as we keep seeing more linux ports I will be infinitely happy.
