So I just installed KOTOR and the game just keeps crashing. At first I couldn't even start the game on 1024 res, but then I dropped to 800x600 and the game worked and then crashed.

I put everything to the max well because I can lol.

Im using 169.32 drivers (which seem to be very good and stable), any help is appreciated guys! Thanks!

EDIT - Also, when it finished installing it asked me if I wanted to install DX9.0b but it said I already had that version so I hit no, i'm no sure if that's the problem.

Check the compatibility. You have to change two properties: Windows XP compatible, and Run as Administrator. Those may be the source of the problems.

Wait, you have windows XP?? That's weird, I used to play KOTOR in my old computer with windows XP without any problems.

Then try to install those directX 9 drivers, I don't have any other idea at the moment.

It seems your problem is fixed, but you should always click "yes" for install DX even if you already have that version because it installs files specific to the game to make it run.

New drivers can sometimes cancel out some games.
With some reason if I update my emachine with A radeon x800
IF i go past CC 7.4 it can't play any DX.
    Glad to help.
