Kane & Lynch

I've just bought the above game for my laptop and can't get it to run properly. I have the intel duel core 2ghz, 2gb ram and the Nvidia 8600M GT. Even with the settings turned right down and a resolition of 800 x 600 it still runs jerky. Is it something I'm doing wrong or is it just too much game for my machine too handle.

First off, make sure you have the newest video drivers (any of the 169.xx ones, really). Next, check and see if you have the latest version, or if there are any patches for the game.

Also, I know I've heard that K&L is a pretty poor port, so it might not be anything you're doing wrong.

 

I`ve got the game , played about an hour and uninstalled it,and threw the dvd behind my bed. Totally dissapinted.

 

Same, Minus the throwing the dvd part. The trailer for this game was off the hook, WtF happened? Can't belive i wasted $50 on this garbage.....

 

Strange, must be a driver problem. I run this game on my laptop XPS M170 at 1680x1050 without any problems. No stuttering or anything.

 

Same here....Most disappointing game of the year award winner.

I waste $48 & threw it away

 

I liked it....until the Jungle part...but even then the experience was going sour. Nice effort, but yeah.

 

do you guys not read the reviews before you buy or have you beaten every game and just simply ran out of games to play.

 

I actually like the game but not that far in, just reached Japan. Tried to update my drivers, brings up a message "Windows has determined that your drivers do not need updated" or something along those lines. Actually uninstalled my graphics card, panicked and had to do a systemrestore. (Not very computer literate).

The game seems to run fine but when you look about quickly it will jerk ie from top right to bottom and at points the game will just freeze for a minute, lose connection then restart at the same point.

Only other game I have played on my new laptop is Rome Total War which it has no probs running on max settings.

Can anyone recommend a good fps that will run well on my laptop, hopefully getting MOH 4 from santa.

I bought it BECAUSE of the reviews, watched over a douzen trailers on www.gametrailers.com and other sites and it seems way better there. Once installed and ingame, didn`t get the vibe anymore.
I`ll probably play it after I finish COD, blacksite area51 and gears of war,all of which are waaaaaay better.

 

Yeah the game didn't get very bad reviews, and the reviewer that DID give it a bad score got fired.

 

He never reviewed the PC version though, did he?

 

Did not check. A lot of times they just use 1 review for every version.

 

I was just curious, cause I remember the review was edited for PS and Xbox, but I don't remember if he ever went back and did the PC version. Who does he work for now, anyways?

 

K&L, the game that s'posedly ended video game reviewer Jeff Gerstmann's career.

 

I finished this game today (I didn't pay for that, someone else did). It's a very short game (5 hours) with no replay value and ugly graphics. The story is good enough for a game but tons of gameplay flaws prevent the player from enjoying it. The last level was good, lots of enemies, explosions, two ending to choose from (both are lame) and etc. What I found unique about this game is actually there is no good/evil, Kane character is as bad as his enemies if not worse.
If you have already played AAA games like COD4,Crysis or Gears of War and just want to play another shooter go play games like Medal of honor, Stranglehold or Blacksite. All of them are average games but better than K&L.
