I recently got myself a copy of Kane and Lynch, tried it on my notebook, but it runs like crap.
I'm running it at 1024x768, no AA, with vsync on. It'll start out really smooth, then it will gradually get slower and more jerky, and not just when there's lots of action either; it'll start doing it when it's just K & L in the empty mall.
Even the pause menu gets jerky, from being totally smooth at the start. I'm using the 174.31 ForceWare drivers.
My laptop can run Bioshock fine at 1440x900 with all settings on high, and that has much better graphics so it should handle Kane and Lynch fine.
Does anyone else have this problem?

I think I've fixed it now, I changed the drivers to 163.67, and it seems to be running better.

Try the Nvidia 174.82 drivers, I have had great success with them. They offer good performance and stability. The 163 series is a bit older.

What's wrong with this game? It was fun playing on the xbox with my brother...
