So, after all the great things I heard about BF2 from HTwingnut and the rest I decided to buy BF2 from steam and see how it was. I like it a lot pretty fun, I am still dying to find a jet though lol. Now to the problem, I updated punkbuster, and now when I connect to a server I get kicked within 5 minutes the reason is a program/driver running that is a no no. I only have steam, my razer software, HWinfo64, Stealthmodeindicator, and webroot AV(set to Gamer Mode). I have tried turning off all of these, one by one and still it does it. I really don't know what to do to fix it.

I kept getting kicked from bf2/2142... read somewhere online that the Logitech gaming keyboard/mouse software can cause it... quit out of the Logitech mouse and keyboard apps and BOOM never kicked again

I am using a razer mouse and the keyboard on my laptop. I have tried disabling the steam overlay and still does it. Even tried it with all my programs turned off and it still does it. It is frustrating me now, if all else fails will redownload and reinstall.

Basically, Evenbalance is a lazy crowd of bum workers. Disable: EVERYTHING NOT REQUIRED FOR RUNNING JUST THE GAME.

This includes any macro mouse software, any screencap system (this includes steam - just exit from steam alltogether, much easier), evga precision, MSI afterburner, sapphire trixx, make sure your GPU drivers are the official WHQL releases, no web browser open, NOTHING.

To put it lightly, I still hate Evenbalance and their BS-wannabe-hackerblocking-buster since I first encountered it's wonton screwups during 2007 (and CoD4, at the time :)).

Lol, That is hillarious, I actually bought it through steam so I can't really turn it off. Everything else is off though. I am gonna see if a reinstall will fix it.

I just revalidated my files through steam and it said 3 files where missing. Going to try it again and will post.

well, in the steams settings (on the cloud+in game tab), there should be an option to disable the ingame screencap system.

yeah, a different file count/checksum, and PB will assume you are using a modded game (which makes sense, at least).
